Seren and Michael

Wow! This wedding was so much fun. I loved working with the Seren and Michael, they were wonderfully enthusiastic. The groomsmen and bridesmaids were too funny; I laughed so hard that I think some people were giving me funny looks.

I’m inspired to keep snapping away at future nuptials, and if time is any indication there are many more enjoyable sessions to come. If every wedding is going to be this enjoyable then sign me up, I’ve found my dream job. Congratulations to both of you, may you have a fairytale happily ever after.

I was invited to be second shooter at a recent wedding of Lydia and Chris. The venue was magnificent, a beautiful home with an even more fantastic yard.

An Evening with the Stars

Not literally, but there was a star filled night sky. We posed in front of a vintage theater reminiscent of Hollywood’s glamorous yesteryear. This gave me an opportunity to use my speed-light off camera. Earlier in the evening we photographed our model, Jessalyn around the old part of town. We didn’t go unnoticed either, Jessalyn got comments from 4 separate drunk and/or homeless men who emphatically praised her beauty. Creepy. I think we should probably put more thought into the safety of our locations from now on. But having said that I’m pretty pleased with the photos from this session.

Abbie and Glenn

We’ve really kicked ourselves into high gear this summer, busting out our fifth session since we committed to build a bigger portfolio.

These two aren’t engaged yet but they should be. Abbie and Glenn were such good sports; letting us photograph them to keep our photography skills honed.

We headed to Downtown Sacramento for the setting, a fantastic place with so much texture and interest. There are so many things to photograph there I think we’ll be back soon. I’m so glad for the opportunity we had to practice, now on to the next project.

Hanging Out with the Girls

She is often mistaken for her sister, but she is actually her attractive, youthful, vibrant single mother. Thank you for letting me capture your family on digital film.

We visited some pretty cool places in our quest for the perfect pictures. It was pretty hot that day; I hope they had as much fun as I did. All things considered these pretty ladies were troopers.

Maybe next time we can try to get out to an ice rink… ooooh now I’m getting some great ideas for those pictures! This could be a very cool thing.

Little Red Riding Hood

Happy go lucky me had so much fun with the last shoot that I wanted to rush in to do another one. This time the theme was fairytales, specifically Little Red Riding Hood. The art direction of this photography was a creative endeavor to emulate the porcelain doll sweetness of lolita fashion (a movement originating from Japan). Shuana returned to work her fantastic magic on hair and make-up, and Phani worked her mad-photography-skills. Thank you to everyone for participating despite rouge sprinklers, stubbed toes, and wonkey power surges.

I’ve had this crazy huge idea rolling around in my head for years. To take some 1940s themed glamor portraits. Thanks everyone who participated in helping me reach my dream. Thanks Klarissa for sitting in a make-up chair for 3 hours followed by another two hours under really hot-hot lights. Thanks Shauna for your awesome make-up and hair. It’s because of you that Klarissa looks so beautiful and perfect. Thanks Phani for being my totally awesome spot checker, reflector holder, pose suggester, and technical adviser. You guys rock and Denny’s at midnight was the best.
